"For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness." (Isaiah 43:18-19 NLT)
We can hold so tightly to past things that we miss the new thing God is doing.
God was doing a new thing when He sent Jesus Christ to earth. He told people through the prophet Isaiah that He was going to do a new thing.
God went so far as to say that it has already begun! “Do you not see?”
The people to whom the prophecy came, did not see or believe or recognise the fulfilment of the Word when it happened.
God is always busy working in this world and in our lives. He keeps asking “ Do you not see?”
This Christmas time, spend a chunk of time with God and ask him: “Father, what new thing are you doing in my life?” “What have You already begun doing?”
I read somewhere that God is working and it is the duty of every generation to join Him. What is God doing in our church, in our community and how does He want us to join Him?
I remember vividly a dream I had a while ago. It was of a river. There were people at different places in the river. Some were already at the waterfall end and looked like they were ready to jump. Some were swimming in the deep side. Some people were standing ankle deep and wading slowly forward. Some were dipping their toes in, testing the temperature of the water. Some were simply standing on the riverbank, watching the others.
Make of the dream what you like. I took my own interpretation of it. I do have a final question: if the river is the river of Life and God’s call on our lives, where are you placed in relation to the river?
“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it?
I will make a pathway through the wilderness.”
Be blessed - swimming into the deep
