Celebrating Milestones with Faith and Gratitude
"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
Matthew 6:33 (ESV)
Celebrating our milestones is far more than just recognising personal achievements—it’s an opportunity to honour God’s work in our lives and share these moments with those who walk alongside us. These celebrations strengthen our bonds with one another, creating a community rooted in love, gratitude, and faith.
When we reflect on the milestones in our lives—whether they be personal accomplishments, family celebrations, or spiritual growth—we are reminded of the blessings we’ve received. Each milestone is an invitation to acknowledge the privileges we often take for granted and share our stories to honour God’s presence and faithfulness in our journey. As we celebrate, we deepen our gratitude and strengthen our faith, two vital pillars that guide us along the path He has set before us.
As both young and old continue to grow in their faith, it’s important to pause and thank God for His steadfast love and faithfulness. One such milestone we will celebrate is our children's return to another year of education—a moment filled with gratitude for the opportunities ahead. On Sunday, February 9th, we’ll gather for a special "Back-to-School Blessing," marking the beginning of a new season of learning, growth, and fresh experiences.
Faith often begins within the home, but the power of celebrating milestones within our communities cannot be understated. Just as the Israelites celebrated God’s deliverance, we are called to celebrate His hand in our lives—recognizing His role in every victory, every blessing, and every step forward.
Let us embrace the practice of celebration, both within our families and as a community of faith. One thing I’ve learned is that each season calls for looking to God, remembering His work in the past, acknowledging His work in the present, and anticipating His faithfulness in the future. His guidance in our past shapes our confidence and fuels our hope for the road ahead.
Looking to God, and for God, in 2025!
With faith,
Brigitte
